"Transforming the World, One Tee at a Time"

Metamorphosis is a unique program developed by Jennifer Griffith, owner of Butterfly Maidens. Through Metamorphosis, Butterfly Maidens donates10% of it's sales to five different reputable organizations that are working hard to transform our world into a healthier, happier and more peaceful place to live.

The most unique part about Metamorphosis program is that the customers of Butterfly Maidens are the ones who determine where the money goes. When customers add an item to their online shopping cart, they are asked to chose between one of the five Metamorphosis organizations. 10% of each sale will go to the organization that they choose. You pick a new organization with every item added to the cart, so you can diversify the money that you contribute to the overall program.

The goal is to get the customers more involved and hopefully very passionate about the giving process. By giving customers full control over that 10%, their shopping experience becomes one of positive activism and empowerment.

Jennifer hand-picked the following five non-profit organizations:

#1: The World Wildlife Fund
Along with everything the WWF does to protect the Earth's wildlife, Jennifer is most interested in their exceptional work to protect endangered species. WWF focuses special attention on "umbrella species", which means animals that when helped, they are able to, in return, help numerous other species that live in the same habitats.

These umbrella species include Giant Pandas, Tigers, Endangered Whales and Dolphins, Rhinos, Elephants, Marine Turtles and Great Apes.

#2: Seeds of Peace
Seeds of peace is a truly amazing organization that works within the schools of war zone areas, to teach these vulnerable young adults about positive leadership qualities and peaceful techniques to resolve conflict. They have developed a comprehensive system that allows its participants to develop empathy, respect, and confidence as well as leadership, communication and negotiation skills - all very critical components to help facilitate a peaceful co-existence for the next generation.

Butterfly Maidens is so proud of this program and would like to personally give praise to both the directors, who have the courage and brilliance to bring about a program like this in such a time of need, and also the brave young participants, who are gaining perhaps the most valuable lessons in life and realizing that there is in fact a great difference between what they see outside the walls of their school, and the peaceful ways in which a society can function. #3: The Nature Conservancy ~ "Adopt an Acre"
Adopt an Acre is a program of The Nature Conservancy, a well established non-profit environmental organization that spreads it's funds all around the world. Jennifer has a special affinity for their Adopt and Acre program, one the provides critical funds for forest restoration and preservation. Every year, Adopt an Acre chooses an imperiled forest area around the world that is in critical need of protection.

Forests are home to more than half the worlds land-based plants and animals. Some of these plants include medicinal plants that are used in the treatment of cancer, just one more thing that forests make possible. Forests also help regulate and moderate the weather by controlling rainfall and the evaporation of water from soil. Talk about Climate Change, forests help to stabilize the worlds climate by storing large amounts of carbon dioxide that would otherwise contribute directly to the change in our planets climate. And here is the problem: More than 35 million acres of forest - an area the size of Florida - is lost every year. Every dollar helps, so thank you for all your help and support!

#4: Americans for Department of Peace
Most US Citizens are completely unaware that a Bill exists in Congress that would establish a Cabinet-level "Department of Peace". Well, Americans for Department of Peace, or AFDOP, is a grassroots organization whose mission is to educate as many citizens as possible about this Bill with the obvious intention of getting this critical Bill passed.. Their inspiration is a Marianne Williamson quote that goes, "It is time that we become as sophisticated at waging peace as we have become at waging war." Very wise words that inspired Jennifer to get involved as much as possible. She supports AFDOP each year at their Walk for Peace, held in San Diego, where money is raised by sponsoring the participants of the 3K. Not a very long walk, but the voice of the participants can now be heard a very long way across the country through the donations which helps the AFDOP get out to Washington D.C. and do whatever they can, always in a peaceful, never protesting manner, to help show support of this Bill. #5: Doctors Without Borders
It would be difficult to discuss the hope for world peace without talking about the current health care crisis. Happy and healthy are two of the same, and Doctors Without Borders is an organization that works very hard to get medical assistance to people around the world who could not otherwise afford it. Their services are supplied completely Free of Charge, they are a non-profit organization that operates through the donations of caring individuals, like the customers of Butterfly Maidens! Let's help the whole world become a healthier place, because there is no logical reason why any citizen of this Earth should be denied basic health care.
